still wins this game, as each troops choice can have 6 Scoring units
[HQ, 5 Squads, 1 Remnants squad], and each one holding down to a man is
extra nice. Guard are very easy to wipe out, but sooner or later you
opponent would have to be wasting an entire unit's firepower just to
down one or two guardsmen that are left from a squad. If 5th edition rumors on weapon teams and vets getting added on to Infantry platoons are true, then these might gain even more scoring units per FOC. Couple this with the rumors of guard getting cheaper and they could get real nasty as far as holding ground goes. I mean, that's what the Imperial Guard are for! Capturing and holding ground. Tactical squads gaining more options is cool too. I really like the options you get when rolling a ten man unit with a Razorback. You can load the assault configured combat squad into the Razorback while the heavy weapon team sits back and shoots, or run the assault portion forward and use the Razorback to get the heavy weapon group into position, or just leave the Tactical squad together and run the Razorback as a light tank, or even use it to transport some other unit, maybe bail your scouts out of the trouble they've infiltrated themselves into? You can do this with a drop pod too; putting one combat squad into the drop pod and hanging one back, or one big squad like normal, or, while bizarre, you could even drop the pod empty just to pester your opponent with a 30pt TLOS blocking storm bolter turret he either has to ignore or waste shots at. This is a little more effective but also more expensive with a Deathstrike missile upgrade, but depending on the situation at hand, a S5 large blast chucker could be worth the price to plop right into your opponent's lines.
